DIY Workshops

Doing It Yourself is the way to go in life. It’s the driving ethos behind the DoS. Thus, we have initiated a series of intensely affordable and practical DIY workshops. Please view our selection of workshops and feel free to contact us if you have any ideas for new topics or if you would like to teach one yourself.

Past Workshops Have Included:

At Home Yoga
Life is stressful!
A DIY at the DOS can help!
The Dos will be offering a three night yoga intensive focusing on basic poses for you to take home to promote every day health and well-being. Each evening, we will concentrate on different areas: strength, balance, relaxation, rejuvenation and breathing.

Herbal Teas
Just in time for rainy afternoons and holiday gift giving, join us for
a two-hour workshop exploring herbal teas. We will cover (briefly)
everything from growing plants in your own backyard or windowsill to clever and inexpensive packaging ideas. You will leave with a box of tea and resources to do it yourself.

Recording Day Camp: How to record and release your own album
In this class Phil and Ryland will give their “expert” advice about how to record and release music in a cheap and exciting way. Day one will focus on basic ideas of recording “tracks”, mic placement, “tone”, dynamics, etc., using a variety of methods from cassettes to Pro Tools. Day Two will give the participants advice on what to do with their albums once they are recorded.

Felting
Learn how to make scarves and purses using felted wool. In this class you will learn how to make and dye felt using materials found around the house.

We learned what felt was good for:

Tony got the stache of his dreams

As did Beija

On the theme of mustaches:
This kid gave himself a ‘Sharpie Dream Stache’ while traveling

(Baby Hitler)
